Migration Evaluator
Creating a business case on your own can be time-consuming and does not always identify the most cost-effective options. A business case is the first step in your migration journey. With Migration Evaluator (Formerly TSO Logic), you can access insights and accelerate decision-making for migration to AWS at no cost. Following data collection, you will quickly receive an assessment, including a projected cost estimate and savings of running your on-premises workloads in the AWS Cloud. Results are captured in a transparent business case report to further align business and technology stakeholders while providing a prescriptive next step in your migration journey.
How it Works
In just a few simple steps, you will gain access to insights that will help you make decisions with confidence for your AWS migration.
Step 1.
Introductory conversation with GuidedSol to discuss where you are in your journey to the cloud. During that conversation, we will review the assessment prerequisites, including the Assessment Input Flat-file template, which will be used to upload on-premises infrastructure inventory information.
Step 2.
Upload on-premises inventory data. For assessment requesters that already have a complete list of servers with their provisioning, software, and utilization or want to move fast and are willing to accept some assumptions, Migration Evaluator supports a CSV or Microsoft Excel file containing the data listed in our glossary. Review the Microsoft Excel Data Import Flat file to ensure you have all the required infrastructure attributes listed in the glossary sheet to build your business case. Make sure to save the Flat-file template to its original file format. After filling out the Flat-file template click here to complete the submission form and attach the Flat-file to initiate the assessment request.
Step 3.
Our team of SMEs will analyze your organization’s compute and storage footprint and create an assessment that includes a projected cost estimate (TCO analysis) and savings of running your on-premises workloads in the AWS Cloud.
Step 4.
Within 5-7 business days of your assessment request, you will receive an email with a directional business case. The deliverables include the scope overview, on-premises estimate using industry benchmarks, cost modeling scenarios, Microsoft SQL core insights(if applicable), and utilization patterns. Results are captured in a transparent business case report to align business and technology stakeholders further while providing a prescriptive next step in your migration journey.
Step 5.
After the initial assessment, your organization can work with GuidedSol to create a directional business case. We will confirm your migration objectives and use analytics to narrow down the migration patterns best suited to your business needs.
